The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Retention Membership Officer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the satisfaction and retention of our gym members by maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database, implementing retention strategies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Database Management:

    • Maintain and update the gym's membership database with accurate member information, including contact details, membership status, and attendance records.

    • Ensure data integrity by regularly auditing and cleaning the database to remove duplicates or outdated information.

    • Utilize the database to generate reports and insights on membership trends, retention rates, and member engagement.

  2. Retention Strategies:

    • Develop and implement effective retention strategies to reduce member attrition and increase member satisfaction.

    • Proactively reach out to members who are at risk of canceling their membership to understand their concerns and address any issues they may have.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotions aimed at retaining existing members.

  3. Customer Service:

    • Provide exceptional customer service to gym members by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and assisting with membership-related issues.

    • Act as a point of contact for members seeking assistance with their membership, billing, or other inquiries.

    • Build strong relationships with members to foster loyalty and encourage long-term membership commitment.

  4. Member Engagement:

    • Implement initiatives to enhance member engagement and participation in gym activities, classes, and events.

    • Work closely with fitness instructors and personal trainers to promote member involvement in group workouts, challenges, and fitness programs.

    • Seek feedback from members to identify areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance the overall member experience.

Have or be willing to obtain

  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Working With Children Check (or equivalent) & National Police Check

Previous experience in fitness, sales, customer service or a retail environment is highly advantageous, but candidates with a friendly attitude and a customer service mindset are encouraged to apply!
