So, let us tell you about us, our company and the job. Our names are Mel & Clinton and we run a company called BcFitness formally known as Bodyconnect Personal Training in Ballarat.

BcFitness is Ballarat's premier family-owned health club, offering personal training, group fitness, boxing as well as a female-only training room and 24/7 Access.  We also run an online optimal health program that we deliver all over Australia and globally.

If you are hired for this job, you'll need to come to the office five days a week and the hours will be 1:30pm - 7:30pm.  These hours may be increased for the right person. The position will be casual initially and you will be paid $25 per hour. There will be an initial 3-month trial. 

TASKS WE NEED YOU TO PERFORM

  • Customer Service & Sales: We are looking for a lively person that loves people and helping others. An interest in health & fitness will be advantageous to the role but not essential.
  • Responding to Customer Service Phone Calls and Emails: We get quite a few phone calls and emails every day. You will need to respond to each of these with basic information I’ll provide to you. So you need to be comfortable with the phone, using email and be a good typist.  You will also need to have great customer service skills & naturally love helping people.
  • Filing: Basic stuff to keep up with the paper flow.
  • Cash Handling Skills:  You will need to count a till each night & balance our system
  • Web Site Management: Ideally, you’ll have some technology skills and can do some basic updates to our websites (if not, we will teach you how). If you’re familiar with WordPress and are generally comfortable with internet technology, that’s definitely a plus.
  • Social Media Management: You will help develop our social media content and be responsible for managing these platforms.  We have systems and software behind what we do so all training will be provided.  Being creative here with good ideas would be desirable. If you have a flair for social's then we would love to hear from you
  • Database Entry:  Basic database management through our client management system is required.
  • Make Sales Phone Calls to Potential Clients: You will be calling potential clients that have expressed interest in our gym through our marketing methods.  All training will be provided.
  • Cleaning: You will help out with the cleaning of our gym as do our other staff
  • Must be Autonomous & Be a Problem Solver:  You must be able to work on your own.  We like our staff to be problem solvers & have initiative. We are not micromanagers of our staff so you will need to be able to self manage your workflow and have the ability to improve our business
  • Help us Grow our Business: You will be responsible for the growth of our business alongside management, so having an interest in marketing & sales would be advantageous

REQUIRED SKILLS

These are the skills you must already have in order to qualify for this position: 

  • Microsoft Word: you must be very comfortable using Word
  • Microsoft Excel: you must have basic Excel skills - we don’t do anything advanced with this software, just some simple spreadsheets, but you must be comfortable doing what I need you to do.
  • Website Management & Social Media:  To be able to navigate around these platforms
  • CRM Management: We will train you on our client database management system. 
  • Good Phone Personality/Etiquette: you will be talking with our customers, who are VERY important to us, and prospective customers, who are also important. You must be comfortable conversing on the phone, in person, and through e-mail. You must know how to conduct yourself professionally, take clear messages and deliver clear instructions to the prospect or client. We'll teach you everything you need to say and do, but we can’t teach you manners and professionalism.
  • Email: A great deal of your work will be via email. We use a web-based program that’s easy to learn (you’ll understand it within 30 minutes). You need to be very comfortable and proficient with email.
  • Thoughtfulness and Organization: We need you to be able to think for yourself and be organized. We are very serious about this one. We do not want a robot, We want someone who learns and grows with us.
